Shuttles

These are pictures of some of the shuttles I have made. They may or may not be available... Please see the "Items For Sale" page for those.

Unless for special order, I do not make according to any pattern -- the whim of the moment, the types of wood, the alignment of the planets... these and more influence the outcome of my making things. All shuttles are finished with either a light shellac coating, or a wax -- again, the wood determines what it will get for a finish.

Various shuttles... I use many kinds of woods, mostly exotic, and NOT endangered! Stick Shuttles Stick shuttles are generally in the 3" - 8" range. But, I've made them as long as 24" for large looms. And, of course, smaller!

Rag Shuttles I make these out of various woods, generally solid, altho' I will laminate thin pieces together (rather than waste the wood) for shuttles that have different inside and outside woods Lengths vary from about 6" up to 24".
